The first official images of the 2013 Lexus IS F-Sport have been released by Lexus. The reveal comes after a leak earlier in the day by Chinese site PCAuto, a leak that has forced the hand of Lexus into releasing its official photos ahead of the official debut at next week’s Detroit Motor Show. As you can see, the next-generation IS takes many styling cues from the Lexus LF-CC concept seen last year at the Paris Auto Salon.

In terms of engines, we can’t report anything official as of yet. However, the smart money is pointing quite strongly towards a V6 2.5 liter and a V6 3.5 liter as two possible options. No solid rumors on whether or not Lexus will offer a hybrid version at launch, but it is a strong possibility down the road. The F-Sport model, as seen in the gallery, receives bespoke front grille and bumper styling, bigger wheels, sport seats and sportier trim accents throughout the cabin.

The interior borrows elements from the LFA, Lexus’s flagship supercar. The usual speedometer has been replaced with an all digital display, reminiscent of that in the LFA. Trim is also done largely in leather, although we don’t know at what trim level that will become an option (or be standard?). Lexus has confirmed a sportier driving position, achieved through a lower seat hip point in addition to more aggressive angle for the steering wheel.

Stay tuned for more next week at the Detroit Motor Show 2013.
