Other details include the automatic Double-Declutch and RACE START functions.

The optional 4MATIC permanent all-wheel drive in the new E-Class has brought about several changes in the car such as the multi-plate clutch with lock function from 50Nm. This helps to distribute some of the power and provide better grip in slippery conditions. The new system is biased 33/67 front-to-rear and it adds 154 pounds to the car’s weight. In the Sport and Handling setting you find the Torque Vectoring Brake used to initiate selective braking on individual wheels.

The exterior of the new E-Class features the distinctive AMG twin-blade grille and the A-wing which is a spoiler in the form of a stylized “A” that reads Mercedes, front spoiler and three air intakes. Other AMG add-ons include the splitter, side air vents and the black diffuser with four exhaust pipes.

As for the S models, the A-wing is finished in high gloss black and chrome splitter. In the interior there are contrasting gray stitching, a sport steering wheel and special sports seats the most notable cases.
