Video: Classic Contest Between Countach LP400 and Ferrari 512 BB

When you really think about it, it’s almost hard to comprehend just how far the supercar has come in the past 30 years. From a time where seatbelts, traction control, power steering and ABS were almost unheard of among the supercar elite, to 2013 where all these systems as well as even more advanced electronics can effectively drive car itself are commonplace, the industry has changed extensively and to compound that statement, we recently stumbled upon the following race video between a bright green Lamborghini Countach LP400 and the Ferrari 512 BB.

Back in the day, these two vehicles were effectively the Aventador and F12 Berlinetta’s of the time, albeit much slower and much less powerful. Nevertheless, the two were still quite evenly matched from a performance standpoint and the following video was put together to show this.

The two were driven around a relatively short 1.6km race track and even though the cars may at first seem to driving at a speed which could be matched by a modern day hatchback, keep in mind that both of them are from the mid-1970’s!
