McLaren Automotive took a group of automotive writers from the Middle East for a trip to Dubai recently. Each of the writers was equipped with a McLaren 12C Spider and McLaren provided a photographer to capture the occassion. Consider this the official release of the McLaren 12C Spider for the Middle East!
The McLaren MP4-12C Spider gets the same familiar 3.8 liter V8 twin turbo engine as its Coupe family member. Power is rated at 625hp as standard. This is driven to the rear wheels via a seven-speed SSG dual-clutch transmission with shift paddles located behind the steering wheel. Unlike its main rival, the Ferrari 458 Spider, McLaren MP4-12C Spider owners will be able to show off their engines through the glass compartment located behind the tonneau cover.
