Ferrari 458 Challenge Crash

A Ferrari 458 Challenge crashed terribly at the Suzuka Circuit during the second race of the Challenge series at the Ferrari Racing Days on Sunday. The driver was Shigeru Terajima and the cause of the accident is yet to be established. As you can see from the video, he was at a very high speed when the car seems to lose control near the safety barriers and as a result, the car went crashing into the walls and later on coming to a halt.

The driver is okay but in a serious condition and also hurt in the incident was a Suzuka circuit volunteer who is in the same hospital as the driver but not seriously injured. As a result, the race ended early ahead of the official schedule. Crashes do happen in every other motorsport event but this one was completely serious, the type of crashes we see in the American drag racing series NHRA.
