Gallery: 33 Stunning Shots of the Porsche 918 Spyder

After recently allowing some of the world’s top automotive journalists, such as Chris Harris, to drive prototypes of the upcoming 2014 Porsche 918 Spyder and after releasing new specs for the car, Porsche has released the following gallery of its new halo supercar.

Unlike McLaren with the McLaren P1 and Ferrari with the Ferrari LaFerrari, Porsche continues to be extremely open with the styling of the 2014 Porsche 918 Spyder with prototypes having been spotted wearing minimal to no camouflage for the past 6 to 12 months.

Consequently, the following 2014 Porsche 918 Spyder prototype depicted in the following gallery of 33 images is bound to be almost identical to the production ready version which is set to debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show this coming September.

One of the most notable aerodynamic changes present in the latest prototypes filmed, driving and snapped in the past few days are the addition of two new rear spoilers each placed behind the rear wheels of the Porsche 918 Spyder.

Most previous prototypes didn’t feature that additional component and it’s currently unclear if it’ll make it onto the production car.

Either way, the production-spec 2014 Porsche 918 Spyder is set to feature an 887hp hybrid powertrain featuring a 607hp naturally aspired 4.6-liter V10 internal combustion engine. Additionally, it’s set to produce 940lb-ft of torque!
