These are photos of the first McLaren P1 to land in the US and it’s first visit was a short stay at McLaren Newport Beach. We had showed you a video of the same car a while ago but its IamTed7 Car Photography who contributes to the same story with a photoshoot he did at the premises. McLaren Newport Beach had asked interested persons to come and view it before it left their store on Friday night.

The McLaren P1 has had selective reveals at various shows; we first saw the production model in Geneva Motor Show 2013. Recently we also saw the yellow McLaren P1 at Villa d’Este 2013. Surprisingly, this is the concept version of the McLaren P1 as it doesn’t feature the additional air intakes in front of the front tires. However, this McLaren P1 concept has been updated with the finer grille at the rear of the car.

The McLaren P1 is powered by a mid-mounted 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine fitted with two turbochargers and an electric motor. Together, this produces 916ps (903bhp) and a maximum torque figure of 900Nm. The petrol engine alone produces 737ps (727bhp) at 7,500rpm, and 720Nm of torque from 4,000rpm with the electric motor supplementing 179ps (176bhp) and 260Nm of torque. The power is channeled through the dual-clutch seven-speed gearbox to drive the rear wheels.
