2014 Nissan GT-R Nismo to lap 'Ring in Under 7:18

Just after confirmation was given that the fastest Nissan GT-R will debut next year in the form of the 2014 Nissan GT-R Nismo, it’s been confirmed that the new car will without a doubt eclipse the current 7 minute and 18 second lap set by the 2013 Nissan GT-R.

The new 2014 Nissan GT-R Nismo will comfortably beat it in fact, thus making it all the more faster than the brand new 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 which laps the circuit in a claimed 7 minutes and 22 seconds.

When speaking with Top Gear, Nissan revealed that the 2014 Nissan GT-R Nismo “will be of great value and offer the same concept as other Nismo products: more power, better handling and improved looks.” It’s currently unclear if the 2014 Nissan GT-R Nismo will receive any power upgrades compared to the current 2013 Nissan GT-R which already packs a punch with 545hp and 465lb-ft of torque.

However, when pushed on the issue, Nissan did reveal that the Nismo version of the 2014 Nissan GT-R should pack more than 570hp. Combine that extra 30-odd horsepower with a selection of other performance-oriented tweaks, likely to include new suspension and a selection of lightweight components and it’s little wonder why Nissan is so confident the 2014 Nissan GT-R Nismo will be the fastest Nissan GT-R ever.
