In the world of competitive drifting, few names can come close to that of Vaughn Gitten Jr. Throughout his career, he has taken victories all around the globe in various drifting events and despite most of his competitors using Japanese derived drifting cars, Vaughn Gitten Jr actually uses a very special Ford Mustang.
In the drifter’s latest video dubbed ‘FIRE DRIFT’, Vaughn Gitten Jr was able to showcase his drifting prowess at night surrounded by hot balls of fire rocketing down to his car from above, flaming tires, fireworks and a selection of small jumps. As you could imagine, the results are quite stunning as is Vaughn Gitten Jr’s Ford Mustang drifter which features green neons near the rear wheels and in the cabin.
Further elaborating on Vaughn Gitten Jr’s Ford Mustang, it’s dubbed the 2014 Ford Mustang RTR and features a V8 engine producing a truly incredible 845hp. This represents a 45hp increase over the 2013-racing variant of of Gitten’s Mustang RTR. All this power is sent to the pavement through Nitto NT05 tires measuring 295/35R18 at the rear and 275/35R18 up front. Further distinguishing the 2014 Ford Mustang RTR from road-going Mustang’s is its aggressive wide body kit which includes Monster Energy vinyls and stickers.
