For Sale: Australian 1987 Ferrari F40

A rare 1987 Ferrari F40 has recently been listed for sale in Australia on Australian used car website, CarSales. The car has an asking price of $1.1 million AUD and seems to be a beautiful example of what has long been considered as the one of the greatest Ferrari production cars ever produced.

Just 1,315 Ferrari F40s were produced, each fitted with a 3-liter, twin-turbocharged V8 engine producing 471hp with 16psi of boost and 425lb-ft of torque at 4,000rpm. That potent powerplant is then mated to a 5-speed manual transmission driving the rear wheels. All told, the Ferrari F40 could hit a top speed of 201mph when new, and sprint to 62mph in just 4.1 seconds and complete the quarter mile in 11.9 seconds.

This particular Ferrari F40 has covered just 3,782 kilometers and is reportedly in immaculate and concours winning condition. What’s more, this 1987 Ferrari F40 underwent its major service just 3 months ago and features a stone guard protection wrap around most of the car to protect it from stone chips and other minor scrapes and scratches.

While a lot more Ferrari F40s were produced than the 400 Ferrari Enzos and the LaFerrari set to only receive 499 units, the Ferrari F40 is still extremely rare and this one is just a handful in Australia.
