2014 Subaru BRZ STi Finally On Its Way!

Just a few days after it was reported that both the Toyota FT-86 Open Concept and any possible Toyota GT86 turbocharged variants were dropped, Subaru has finally released the very first images of the long-awaited 2014 Subaru BRZ STi!

Speculation about a Subaru BRZ STi has been around for a couple of years now, and we were beginning to lose hope of ever seeing an STi version of the Toyota/Subaru sports car ever coming to fruition. While these teaser shots show very little other than showing the new STi badges, the upcoming 2014 Subaru BRZ STi is expected to feature a significantly more aggressive bodykit compared to the standard Subaru BRZ. However, any styling tweaks will be minor in comparison to what’s expected to be changed and altered under the hood.

2014 Subaru BRZ STi Finally On Its Way!

Ever since the Subaru BRZ, Toyota GT86 and Scion FR-S were released, almost the only complaint has been in regards to their lack of power. After all, the trio only produce 200hp from their shared small 2.0-liter four-cylinder boxer engine. However, the 2014 Subaru BRZ STi will finally receive forced induction in the form of a turbocharger and could produce upwards of 300hp and 250lb-ft of torque driving the rear wheels!

It’s not yet known when the 2014 Subaru BRZ STi will debut, but a major motor show this year is expected!
