Just a few days after a 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class appeared wearing little camouflage, its convertible sibling, the 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Convertible has been spotted testing under heavy camouflage.
While on first glance the car may appear to be sporting a hard-top, it’s clearly just a disguise hiding what will be Mercedes-Benz’s rival to the upcoming BMW 4-Series Convertible. However, unlike the BMW which is expected to receive a removable hardtop, the 2016 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Convertible will instead make use of a more conventional fabric roof.
What’s immediately apparent about the 2015 Mercedes-Benz C-Class from previous images is that it shares many of the new design elements of the recently updated 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class. In fact, it simply looks like a smaller version of the S-Class even featuring similar taillights as well as the sharp profile lines reminiscent of the 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA.
