Is This The First Official Picture of the 2015 Lamborghini Huracan?

With Lamborghini recently revealing that the very first details about the Gallardo’s successor would be revealed before Christmas, the rumour mill is in over-drive speculating how the new Italian supercar will look. Additionally, the new name of Huracan has emerged as the favourite for the production car.

Now, the following image has emerged said to be the very first official photo of the 2015 Lamborghini Huracan. With the official debut of the Huracan still some time away at the Geneva Motor Show 2014 in March, it would be extraordinary if an official image leaked online this early. As a result, we are taking this image with a bit of scepticism.

However, even if this is simply a rendering, it appears very accurate when compared to recent Lamborghini Huracan prototypes spotted testing in the last few months.

Whenever the Lamborghini Gallardo’s successor debuts and whatever it is called, it is expected to be a real performer. Most importantly, it is expected to feature an all-new seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. This indicates that Lamborghini has finally succumbed to the pressure and won’t release the Cabrera with a similar ISR transmission to the range-topping Lamborghini Aventador.

That new gearbox will then be mated to an upgraded variant of the 5.2-liter V10 engine currently found in the Gallardo. In Cabrera-specification, expect around 600hp. As a result, we can expect a sprint from zero to 100 km/h in the low 3 second range with a top speed of around 320 km/h (200 mph).
