Alongside the 2015 Dodge Charger, the latest Dodge Challenger has been revealed at the New York Auto Show 2014. Featuring a host of new variants as well as some visual changes just like the new Charger, the 2015 Dodge Challenger is immediately recognisable from the current model.
From a visual standpoint, brand new headlights have been fitted as has a new split front grille, a more prominent power bulge in the bonnet and redesigned foglights. Overall, the new Dodge Challenger maintains the shape of the outgoing model while at the rear, brand new taillights are featured on gloss black trim. These new taillights are LED units and certainly look very distinct.
Just like the new Charger, the 2015 Dodge Challenger is available in a host of specifications. These are the Challenger SXT, SXT Plus, R/T, R/T Plus, R/T Shaker, R/T Plus Shaker, 6.4-liter Scat Pack and 392 HEMI Scat Pack Shaker. The most interesting two are the new Scat Pack and Shaker models. Under the hood, the Challenger 6.4-liter Scat Pack is fitted with a 392 cubic inch V8 engine delivering 485 hp and 475 lb-ft of torque.
This powerplant can be mated to a six-speed manual transmission or an eight-speed automatic. When equipped with the auto, the car should hit 100 km/h in the mid-four seconds. As for the Shaker model, it is available in either 6.4-liter or 5.7-liter V8 engine specification. Just like the recently revealed 2014 Dodge Challenger R/T Shaker, it includes the new Shaker hood and a new cold air intake. It comes fitted as standard with the Super Track Pak suspension setup along with a new graphics package, sport seats and Goodyear Eagle F1 tyres.
In the cabin, the new 2015 Dodge Challenger features a prominent 8.4-inch touchscreen Uconnect Access infotainment system while a smaller 7-inch display is found in the instrument cluster.
Pricing details have yet to be revealed.
So its the same okay!
I'll bet the price won't be the same…
The new SRT Challenger, dubbed the 'Hellcat' -should really be something. SRT has stated that it will be supercharged, and may have more horsepower than the Viper. If that's true, we could be looking at a Challenger that is approaching 800 horsepower.
Not enough change for me to get rid of my 40th Anniversary 2010 Plum Crazy. Don't like the grill and sure don't like the tail lights. Interior is okay but I still like the retro look and feel of mine.
Yep, looks just like 2014
meh, not that different from the previous models ..I mean it's a nice looking car and all..imagine that 392 hemi with a six speed!!
wow, that is one cool fiat challenger
Very subtle updating. I like it.
Cadillac CTS-V will still smoke it…
I like the new Challenger, and so does my wife, but as retired G.M. worker, ethnicity I'd have to go with a Camaro PERIOD
Maybe, but the Challenger looks like a real muscle car.
Cts-v.is my choice. Camaro would be my 2nd.
Of course the CTS-V would smoke a 485 bhp Challenger. But it isn't a muscle car. It's a luxury car. It competes against the likes of the BMW M5 and the Merc E63 AMG, not Challengers and Mustangs. The styling and feel is completely different.
Walter Walter With the CTS-V yopu get the best of both worlds. Luxury amd Muscle. It has a Corvette Engine! How can you say it's not a Muscle Car? For the Money……CTS-V 100%
