Rolls-Royce at Villa d Este 2014

The drop-dead gorgeous Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe Waterspeed Collection recently celebrated its world debut at the Concorso d’Eleganza at Villa d’Este 2014. While it was the clear highlight of what Rolls-Royce brought along, the new Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II also attracted crowds at the famous and ultra-exclusive event.

A mere 35 examples of the Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe Waterspeed Collection will be produced with each finished in a stunning shade of bright blue inspired by the Bluebird motor company’s official colour scheme. Elsewhere across the exterior of the car, this bright shade of blue is featured, for example, in the inners of the wheels and it is offset by the brushed aluminium finish of the front grille, bonnet, A-pillars and windscreen surround.

As with all Rolls-Royce Phantoms, the cabin of the Drophead Coupe Waterspeed Collection is utterly gorgeous with it featuring grey leather throughout as well as Abachi wood panelling, an embossed Bluebird motif on the centre console/armrest, bright blue piping and slightly revised gauges. One of the most eye-catching elements of the Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe Waterspeed Collection happens under the hood, with much of the engine mimicking the bright blue finish of the exterior and interior.

As for the Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II, it gets a new front end design incorporating the latest generation LED active lighting, a new front bumper, fender and under-bumper air-intake and a re-profiled bonnet with a new “wake line” flowing back from either side of Spirit of Ecstasy. There is also a redesigned line on both forward flanks.
