375 hp Volkswagen Golf GTI Wolfsburg Edition Revealed at Worthesee

Alongside the release of the utterly insane Volkswagen GTI Roadster Vision Gran Turismo at Wörthersee 2014, VW has also revealed an extremely potent Golf GTI dubbed the Wolfsburg Edition.

Created by a dozen Volkswagen apprentices aged between 18 and 23 at the company’s Wolfsburg plant, the Volkswagen Golf GTI Wolfsburg Edition features a host of performance and visual modifications when compared to the standard road-going GTI.

Whereas the small 2.0-litre TFSI engine of the regular Golf GTI produces a maximum of 227 hp with the Performance Package, the Wolfsburg Edition delivers a brutal 375 hp! Alongside the plethora of engine upgrades to achieve such a high horsepower figure, the Golf GTI Wolfsburg Edition features a carbon fibre air box as well as a custom stainless steel exhaust system complete with valve control.

To help match the engine upgrades, the Wolfsburg Edition also features a host of visual upgrades. First off, the car is finished in bright red with special black liveries. It also includes a hand-made front splitter, lowered suspension, red brake calipers and new blacked out wheels with red lips. In the cabin, the car features custom red and black trim, an iPhone Docking Station, a motif of the Wolfsburg skyline and a PlayStation and 24-inch LED TV in the trunk.
