Video: Possible Porsche Macan Turbo S Testing at the Nurburgring

A prototype for what is believed to be the Porsche Macan Turbo S was recently spied undergoing testing at the famous Nurburgring racetrack in the forests of Germany.

If this is indeed a Macan Turbo S, it’ll inevitably act as the range-topping variant of the Macan range which is currently topped out by the existing Macan Turbo which in itself is a very impressive car. It features a 3.6-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine producing 400 hp at 6000 rpm. This power has been achieved thanks to the turbochargers running boost pressure of 17.4 psi. Consequently, the SUV will sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.8 seconds and a top speed of 263 km/h. When it is equipped with the Sport Chrono package the 0-100 km/h sprint drops to 4.6 seconds. Just like the standard Macan S, the Macan Turbo is fitted standard with the Porsche Doppelkupplung (PDK) transmission.

For the Macan Turbo S, Porsche will reuse the 3.6-litre twin-turbocharged V6 engine but should boost power up to the 450 hp mark. Thanks to the extra power, we expect the Porsche Macan Turbo S to be a couple tenths quicker to 100 km/h.

The car will likely launch sometime next year with a price in Germany of around 90,000 euros.
