2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Evo Revealed and Likely to be Last

This ladies and gentlemen, could be the final iteration of the rather legendary Lancer Evolution. As the 2015 model dedicated to the U.S. market, the 2015 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution will be the end of the Evolution as we know it. While Mitsubishi has confirmed that it will be the last model, there’s a possibility the Evolution name will be revived in several years and return to the market as a hybrid.

While the U.S. has never received as many Evolution variants as many other countries, the final model is still fast enough. It features a turbocharged 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine delivering 291 hp and 300 lb-ft of torque. While those figures are unchanged from the 2015 model, a host of new features are available for the 2015 car.

In Evolution GSR specification, the car receives things like a 6.1-inch touchscreen display, six speaker stereo, USB connectivity, 18-inch wheels as well as potent Brembo brakes. Elsewhere, Mitsubishi is now offering a new Premium Package which includes leather seats, a sunroof, heater front seats and piano-black accents in the cabin.

By comparison, the Evolution MR receives xenon headlights, a six-speed dual-clutch transmission, nine speaker Rockford Fosgate sound system, Bilstein shocks with Eibach springs and lightweight 18-inch BBS forced wheels.
