With just nine units of the Alfa Romeo TZ3 Stradale by Zagato produced, it truly is one of the rarest and most exclusive cars to be produced since the good-ole days of coachbuilding. Now one of those examples, number 7 of 9 in fact, is up for sale in the United States!
Ferrari of Newport Beach currently has the Alfa Romeo TZ3 Stradale by Zagato in stock with just 317 miles on the clock. It is finished in a stunning shade dubbed Metallic Brown and features a chestnut leather interior.
Interestingly, the Alfa Romeo TZ3 Stradale by Zagato is based around the Dodge Viper ACR-X. As a result, it features a massive 8.4-litre V8 engine delivering 640 hp and 585 lb-ft of torque. All that power is then sent straight to the rear wheels via a manual transmission.
At a first glance, the Alfa Romeo TZ3 Stradale by Zagato’s relationship with the Dodge Viper is immediately apparent as it features the same swooping long hood as the Dodge Viper as well as the short tail and the Dodge Viper’s trademark side-exiting exhaust pipes.
Apart from those features, the Alfa Romeo TZ3 Stradale by Zagato features completely custom Zagato designed bodywork, including a double-bubble roof and a unique set of wheels.
Hmmmm. An Alfa Romeo with a Viper engine is not an Alfa Romeo. Not knocking the Viper engine, I’m sure its a great powerplant, but keep it in the Viper where it belongs. If they needed more power, a bored-out 3.8 V6 Busso with super/ turbo charger would have delivered all that was needed without sacrificing Alfa’s typical agility and character. Nice concept car, but no thanks. I’d rather buy an actual Viper – or an actual Alfa.
