Spyshots of the mid-lift facelifted Porsche 991-generation 911 continue to pour in and the latest variant spied testing is the upcoming 2016 Porsche 911 Carrera S.

As is typically the case with facelifted Porsche 911 models, we’re only expecting to see some minor visual and performance modifications. With that being said, these updates will ensure the 991.2 looks fresh until the next-generation 911 inevitably arrives.

One of the most intriguing new elements the 991.2 models will introduce are new air intakes on the bumper which feature movable horizontal slats. Based on what we’ve seen from recent prototypes, these slats can be fully closed, fully opened or somewhere in between to influence fuel efficiency and inevitably provide better cooling when necessary.

Elsewhere, tweaked taillights as well as a modified rear bumper will be featured.
