Upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe Spied Testing

Upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLE Spied Testing

Just yesterday, it emerged that Mercedes-Benz is planning to clean up the names of its SUV line-up. One of the most dramatic changes will see the Mercedes-Benz ML-Class becoming the GLE and the reported ML Coupe instead be dubbed the GLE Coupe.

Now a new prototype has been spied testing under heavy camouflage and it has just increased our anticipation and excitement to see the car released. As with previous prototypes, the car pictured shares many design traits with the Concept Coupe SUV. Most prominently, the overall body shape looks essentially identical with a stretched back windscreen creating a similar profile to the BMW X6.

However, as is typically the case, the production-spec Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe will feature redesigned bumpers both front and rear as well as larger wing mirrors. It is also likely that slightly tweaked headlights and taillights will feature.

Upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLE Spied Testing

The production-spec Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe will rival the BMW X6 and is expected to be available with a host of different engines. For starters, both petrol and diesel V6 engines are expected alongside a very economical hybrid. At the top of the range, we can expect to see a V8 powered GLE 63 AMG Coupe and an GLE 65 AMG Coupe powered by a V12 engine!
