Rolls-Royce to Build New Technology and Logistics Centre at Bognor Regis

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has announced they will build a new Technology and Logistics Centre in Bognor Regis, not far from its headquarters in Goodwood, UK. The facility will bring a number of the automaker’s operations and functions under one roof, improving logistics and allowing for future expansion as the brand posts its best sales year of all time.

The new Technology and Logistics Centre will be built on a business park on the northern edge of Bognor Regis, just eight miles from Rolls-Royce headquarters. About 200 employees will work at the centre, with some coming in under all-new titles and some being transferred from other Rolls-Royce facilities. The building will house Rolls-Royce’s inbound warehouse for production parts, a distribution centre with an inbound body store and finished car store and a workshop for car preparation.

“I am delighted to announce our new Technology and Logistics Centre, which reflects the sustainable development and ongoing success of our business. Every Rolls-Royce motor car is built at the Home of Rolls-Royce at Goodwood and this new facility will provide the required local logistics support for our current and future models,” said Rolls-Royce CEO Torsten Müller-Ötvös. “Rolls-Royce is a British manufacturing success and we remain fully committed to building our future here in West Sussex.”

The facility was built in Bognor Regis as part of the ‘Enterprise Bognor Regis’ initiative, which looks to develop Bognor Regis and the surrounding area as a new premier business location in West Sussex for both white- and blue-collar type jobs. When the facility opens in 2016, Rolls-Royce will be the first business to hop on-board for the program.

“To have attracted a company of the calibre of Rolls-Royce to Bognor Regis is a major coup for our town,” said Nick Gibb, a local MP for Bognor Regis. “The association of Rolls-Royce with Bognor Regis, Chichester, Goodwood and West Sussex can only help the long term economic prosperity of the area.”
