To celebrate BMW’s recent victory in the DTM championship with Marco Wittmann, the German firm is preparing to reveal a special edition of the M4 dubbed the DTM Champion Edition. To help boost our excitement, a couple images of the car under wraps have emerged online.

It remains unclear what will distinguish the BMW M4 DTM Champion Edition from the regular car but it will reportedly be limited to a mere 23 examples.

Back in 2012, a special DTM Champion Edition of the E92-generation M3 Coupe was revealed. It featured some special decals, new gloss black wheels, a carbon fibre front splitter and bootlid lip spoiler as well as some carbon fibre accents in the interior.

As a result, it seems likely that the M4 DTM Champion Edition will receive similar upgrades.
