On the back of the first U.S.-spec 2015 Nissan GT-R Nismo being delivered to its new owner, it has emerged that the most potent GT-R variant is sold out.

Despite costing $151,585 in the United States, all examples of the Nissan GT-R Nismo have sold out for the 2015 model year. While it remains unclear just how many examples that is, it is hardly surprising how popular the GT-R Nismo has proven to be.

The Nissan GT-R Nismo features the familiar 3.8-litre V6 VR38DETT engine, freshly uprated to 591 hp and 652 Nm of torque. To release the extra power, Nismo fit new high-flow, large diameter turbochargers, which come directly from GT3 racing. Nismo have also optimised the individual ignition timing control for each cylinder and upgraded fuel pump improve combustion.

Nismo also worked with Bilstein to develop springs and custom Bilstein DampTronic dampers for the front and rear suspension. Three suspension modes can be selected; Comfort, Normal and R for circuit applications. Nismo haste also worked their magic on the suspension couplings, wheel hub attachments and fitted a new hollow anti-roll bar.

When it is all said and done, the GT-R Nismo laps the famous Nurburgring Nordschleife in a mere 7 minutes and 8 seconds and is the third fastest, globally-homologated road car behind the Porsche 918 Spyder and McLaren P1.
