2015 Mercedes-Maybach S600

As part of a joint premier, Mercedes-Benz will today unveil the Mercedes-Maybach S 600 at the Guangzhou Motor Show 2014 and the Los Angeles Auto Show 2014. At 5453 mm long and with a wheelbase of 3365 mm, the Mercedes_Maybach S 600 is the flagship of the Mercedes-Benz model range.

The 2015 Mercedes-Maybach S 600 is 20 cm larger in both length and wheelbase than the long-wheelbase S-Class Saloon. Rear passengers benefit from the increased length with standard equipment that includes executive seats on both left and right and other exclusive details such as innovative voice amplification. The Mercedes-Maybach S-Class is said to be the world’s quietest production saloon car.

As we have already revealed, Mercedes-Maybach will be offered as a new sub-brand to the Mercedes-Benz brand, much in the same way as Mercedes-AMG. The cars will be exclusive, spacious and lavishly designed; targeted at the most discerning customers worldwide.

The Mercedes-Maybach S 600 gets a 6.0 litre V12 biturbo engine with an output of 530 hp. Maximum torque of 830 Nm is available from 1900 rpm. As second model, the 4.6 litre V8 biturbo engined Mercedes-Maybach S 500 generates an output of 455 hp and peak torque is 700 Nm. NEDC combined fuel consumption for the saloon is 31.7 mpg (premium petrol). CO2 emissions are 207 g/km.

The Mercedes-Maybach S 600 completes the sprint from 0 to 62 mph in 5.0 seconds, while the top speed is 155 mph (electronically limited). Permanent all-wheel drive improves traction and driving stability for the S 500. The Mercedes-Maybach S 500 is also equipped as standard with the new 9G-TRONIC, the world’s first nine-speed automatic transmission for the premium segment. The Mercedes-Maybach S 600 comes with the latest evolution of the 7G-TRONIC PLUS automatic transmission.

At the front, the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class features a dominant radiator trim with large radiator opening and three double louvres in chrome, subtle vertical chrome trim, double trim in the air intakes and the bottom end piece of the bumpers. At the rear, horizontal lines emphasise the vehicle’s width, twin-tailpipe trim elements are finished in chrome and Maybach lettering is applied to the boot lid.

The Mercedes-Maybach gets a new side line with a 66 mm shorter rear door with no triangular window . The rear seats are situated beyond the door cutout with Maybach logos marking the C-pillars on both sides.

Inside the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, passengers get lounge-style, modern luxury. The front centre armrests feature nappa leather or exclusive nappa leather upholstery feature embossed Maybach crests. Another special feature in the dashboard is the analogue clock with an IWC design. Exclusive features used in the Mercedes-Maybach S-Class are trim parts include wood/chrome and leather at shoulder height in the door panels, chrome-plated tweeter grilles and fibre-optic cables for the ambience lighting to the side on the armrest.

An exclusive Maybach perfume AGARWOOD has been included as part of the AIR-BALANCE package and two silver-plated, handcrafted champagne flutes are also available as optional extras. A Burmester high-end 3D surround sound system is also on offer.

The rear executive seats feature a special adjustment kinematics system. The backrest is adjustable, as is the cushion with inclination and horizontal adjustment combined. The maximum backrest angle is 43.5 degrees up to a maximum of 19 degrees. Calf support is adjustable for length and angle.

A Chauffeur package is also standard equipment which means that the front-passenger side has 77 mm more footroom compared with a normal front passenger seat. The front passenger seat can be folded forward and the rear seat placed in an extended recline position. Heel support is also a feature which extends from under the front passenger seat.
