At the Detroit Motor Show 2015 in early January, Mercedes-Benz will be introducing its new AMG Sport lineup as well as the production-spec Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe SUV. It will debut alongside the much talked about Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG Sport and now new details about that model have emerged online.

According to a German source, the C450 AMG Sport will pump out a total of 461 hp (467 PS) courtesy of a 3.0-litre V6 engine. Such a power output will mean the C450 AMG Sport pumps out 33 hp more than the C400 and 107 hp less than the range-topping Mercedes-AMG C63 and its twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 powerplant.

As for the Mercedes-Benz GLE Coupe, it will be based on the same platform as Mercedes’ ML SUVs and will act as the firm’s direct competitor to the BMW X6 which offers consumers a sportier package without sacrificing the practicality of an SUV.

Both V6 diesel and petrol GLE Coupe variants are expected to be offered, along with an economical hybrid model. A high-performance AMG version is also expected to be introduced and may be powered by a twin-turbocharged V8 engine, possibly the one from the 2015 C63.
