Donkervoort D8 GTO Bilster Berg Edition

Less than a week after being teased, the Donkervoort D8 GTO Bilster Berg Edition has been officially introduced. The car has been created to celebrate the German firm breaking the lap record for a street-legal production car at the private Bilster Berg circuit.

From a design standpoint, the Donkervoort D8 GTO Bilster Berg Edition features a revised front nose made from exposed carbon fibre to add an extra aggressive design to the German sports car. Beyond this small design change, the Bilster Berg Edition features a selection of mechanical changes and upgrades over the ‘regular’ D8 GTO.

Starting with the engine, the 380 hp, Audi-sourced 2.5-litre five-cylinder TFSI engine has been tweaked for improved throttle response and now comes mated with an ultra-light flywheel and race clutch. Elsewhere, Donkervoort has managed to strip 10 kg of weight from the D8 GTO Bilster Berg Edition.

From a suspension standpoint, the Donkervoort D8 GTO Bilster Berg Edition features new shock absorbers created in collaboration with Intrax to provide more grip through the heavier settings. Additionally, an improved roll cage can be found in this special edition. One of the final key changes is the fitment of semi-slick tyres.

Just 14 examples of the Donkervoort D8 GTO Bilster Berg Edition will be created with each starting from 194,000 euros including the 21 per cent VAT.
