Mercedes-Benz GLC

Spy photographers have managed to snap the interior of the upcoming Mercedes-Benz GLC offroader during winter testing in Europe.

In the spy shot, it is immediately apparent that the Mercedes-Benz GLC has drawn on the latest-gen C-Class heavily for its interior design. With that in mind, it features three prominent round air vents on the dashboard as well as the German firm’s COMAND infotainment system sitting on top of the air vents. While the rest of the interior has been covered, further C-Class inspired elements are expected.

Compared to the existing GLK, recent Mercedes-Benz GLC prototypes have featured longer wheelbases as well as wider tracks. As a result, the entire body of the GLC will be slightly larger than the outgoing GLK to further distinguish it from the Mercedes-Benz GLA.

As a result of the longer wheelbase, the new Mercedes-Benz GLC will feature more interior space than the current GLK and should be similar in size to the BMW X3 and Audi Q5. Underpinning the GLC will be a similar mechanical package to the C-Class and the SUV will consequently be made available in right-hand drive for markets like the UK, Australia and Japan.
