Lotus E23 Hybrid

The 2015 Lotus E23 Hybrid F1 racer has just been revealed prior to the start of testing for the 2015 Formula One World Championship.

Beneath the skin, the Lotus E23 Hybrid is significantly different than last year’s entrant. As a matter of fact, it now uses a Mercedes engine rather than one sourced from Renault thus ending the two decade long engine-supply relationship between the Lotus team and Renault. Elsewhere, a new suspension system can be found in the Lotus E23 Hybrid as the FRIC system of last year was outlawed during the season.

Another key change for the 2015 Lotus E23 Hybrid over last year’s entrant is that it has ditched the twin-tusk nose cone in favour of a much more visually appealing nose which is lower. Before the season kicks off, the squad will reportedly receive a selection of new sponsors as well.

Behind the wheel of the two E23 Hybrids for this season will be Romain Grosjean and Pastor Maldonaldo, the same two drivers from the 2014 season.
