2015 Honda Civic Type R
Honda has released the first official teaser photos of the 2015 Civic Type R ahead of the highly-anticipated hatchback’s scheduled debut at the Geneva Motor Show this March.

Along with the photos, Honda released some early details on the latest addition to its Type R lineage. The 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder VTEC engine in the Type R will have “more than 280PS or 276hp” and will enable the Type R to reach “a “class-best top speed of 270km/h (167mph)”.

The photos reveal an agressive black front lip spoiler, part of an aerodynamics package that also includes an almost completely flat underbody. Further aerodynamic enhancements include an agressive rear wing and side skirts, changes which provide “exceptional high speed stability and high levels of downforce,” Honda says.

Also seen in these early teasers are standard round foglights, which are much less extreme than the LED fogs seen on the Civic Type R concept. Different 19-inch gloss black wheels with red accent striping wrapped in high-performance Continental rubber and a Brembo brake kit with 350mm front rotors round out the known details for now.
