Aston Martin V8 Vantage Crash in Delhi

Ashish Sabharwal, a resident of India’s capital New Delhi, rammed his Aston Martin V8 Vantage into a tree as he was trying to save a stray dog.

Sabharwal, who escaped unhurt from the accident, claimed that he was heading towards Chanakyapuri on the Chandragupta Marg when he saw the dog crossing the road. As he tried to avoid hitting it, Sabharwal turned the car towards the left. However, according to eyewitnesses, the driver then lost control of his car, resulting in the Aston Martin crawling over the footpath before hitting a tree. The accident occurred near the Italian Embassy on Sunday evening.

The front of the car has been ruined, with the bonnet and grille heavily damaged. It is reported that the engine has also been affected by the crash.

The police reached the spot immediately but no FIR was lodged since the accident did not cause any physical harm and the destruction to public property was small.

This is the fifth exotic car to have suffered an accident in India over the last 40 days. Three Lamborghinis and one Porsche have suffered the same fate as the Aston Martin. The latter is said to have cost Sabharwal INR 30 million ($475,000).
