Concours of Elegance 2015 previewed

From the 4th to the 6th of September, the Concours of Elegance 2015 in Edinburgh, Scotland will be held.

The event made its debut in 2012 at Windsor Castle and attracted sixty of the world’s finest and most expensive cars. The next two years it was held at St James’s Palace and Hampton Court Palace and this year will head to the Palace of Holyroodhouse.

The main concours this year will attract the likes of a 1905 Star, 1939 Delahaye Type 165 Figoni et Falaschi and even a 1967 Ferrari 275 GTB/4 NART Spider, one of just ten examples ever produced. Elsewhere will be a 1979 BMW M1, 1995 Ferrari F40 LM and the recently unveiled Touring Superleggera Berlinetta Lusso based around the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta and limited to five units.

The Concours of Elegance 2015 will also see a special celebration of niche racing outfit Ecuire Ecosse which claimed victory at the 1956 and 1957 24 Hours of Le Mans races. The team is currently racing a BMW Z4 GT3 in British GT and the Blancpain GT Championship. A special Sir Jackie Stewart tribute will also be held with his 1969 Matra MS80, 1971 Elf Team Tyrrell 003 and 1973 Elf Team Tyrrell 006 all set to be displayed.

The Scottish Motor Racing Legends section will also be a highlight of the concours. Jim Clark’s 1964 Lotus-Cortina will be displayed as will his 1966 Lotus 43-BRM H16 Formula One car. Dario Franchitti will also be bringing along the three pace cars from the three Indianapolis 500 victories he has.
