Photo of the Day: Shelby Mustang GT500 Breaking Dusk!

The original Ford Shelby Mustang GT500 ‘Eleanor’ is one of the most recognisable muscle cars ever produced. Originally created for the 1974 film Gone in 60 Seconds, the car reached its current level of stardom in the 2000 Gone in Sixty Seconds film with the skin of a bespoke 1967 Ford Mustang Fastback rather than the 1971 Mustang used in the original film.

The custom bodykit of the 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 Eleanor was created by Steve Stanford. It is believed that just 11 or 12 Eleanors were created for the 2000 re-make but there are many more replicas out there including this particular example. While not the real thing, it does look absolutely identical.
