Beyond the Ehra-Lessien test track owned by the Volkswagen Group and the Autobahn, there are very few places on earth where a Bugatti Veyron can really be pushed to the limits. In the U.S. however, there is an event dubbed the Sun Valley Road Rally in Idaho which allows participants to often max out there cars on a flat and straight stretch of highway.

At last year’s event, a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport hit an incredible 395 km/h (246 mph) during the rally. This year, the bespoke Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse L’Or Rouge hit a rather incredible 378 km/h (235.7 mph). As the following video shows, the French hypercar sounds like a jet as it roars down the road!

Interestingly, it wasn’t even in top speed mode with the large rear wing and airbrake actually deployed throughout the runs inevitably adding lots of drag to the car.
