We had the chance to have an interview with rally legend Uno Gomes. Doing the Gumball 3000 for the fourth time this year, he had plenty to say!

What do you expect from this Gumball?

This years gumball? Good question, on one hand I see the Asian side of Turkey and Greece which will be a great opportunity to race through those countries. And we have Eastern Europe which are the best countries to drive in anyhow :) I love corruption. So there is always a way to escape jail bonds and all the other possibilities cops have to keep you out of the next checkpoint.

A 2003 996TT Modified to 500bhp

Do you have any special gadgets in your car?

We have latest Jammers and Detectors as well as our charm and good looks

What preparations did you take for Gumball?

We are both experience Endurance racers with 1000s of miles of roads covered at insane speeds.

Today we had an interivew Jerome Fohet. His Team number is still to be disclosed but as Team Ecario he’s ready to hit the roads from Salt Lake City to Los Angeles. Read the interview below:

Who’s you co-driver?

My co-driver is Anne Claire Bouzin (my fiance)

What car are you driving in this year Gumball? (Make, model, year, specs)

I will be driving a 2006 Ecario 350Z. An Ecario 350Z is Nissan 350Z that has been modified just for the Gumball rally. With modification I’m talking about the exhaust, the headers, the air filter, the ECU. I didn’t want to touch the stock engine. With those modification we will have a lot of fun.

Do you have any special gadgets in your car?

Coming from the Silicon Valley you will be able to find many cool gadgets in my car like: radar detector, laser jammer, GPS, SatNav, CB, Scanner, Radio amateur handheld, laptop with a 3G card to have a permanent link to the internet.

“Bitty‿ – Other wise known as Jessica Kramer. Jessica is a playboy cyber girl and, besides providing refreshments, she will be responsible for map reading, police scanning and looking good while cleaning the car. Due to the complete lack of luggage space in the Noble, Jessica will be completing the Gumball in bikinis only.

Do you have any special gadgets in your car?

Front and rear mounted laser jammers, Cloaking Device, adapted fuel filler cap enabling us to refuel on the move from or service vehicle, GPS Speedo for accurate top speed checks, on board broadband for mobile communications on the fly, 3 Laptops 1 to download footage too 1 for the online chat and updates and 1 back up as we found last year they break easily, Several on board cameras front and rear mounted, and a selection of goodies which are secret.

What preparations did you take for Gumball?

With this Gumball being our third we have been in research and development with the car and the modifications for 3 Years now, it’s just like Formula 1 you have to update everything each year to keep up with the competition.

We had a little interview today with one of the participants of the 2006 edition of the Gumball rally. His name is James and he is proud owner of a black Lamborghini Gallardo.

What do you expect from this years Gumball Rally?

“I’m expecting this years gumball to be physically the most demanding, due to
the long flying times between stages. We have two 15 hour flights, one
alone has a time change of 15 hours!”

Do you have any special gadgets in your car?

“No special gadgets really. We’ve got a police strobe light for some night
time fun ;) A couple of digital camcorders for footage on the road. Laptop
and GPRS quad band phone. Handheld GPS, and in car satnav. That’s about
it.”
