It’s been a while since our last interview so we got back at it and found professional stunt driver Paul Swift willing to answer our questions. Paul Swift (age 28) from Darlington started stunt driving when he was 8.

Where does your passion for cars and driving come from?

Its in my blood really my Dad Russ turned his passion for Motorsport in the early 80¹s into a full time job doing driving demonstrations for car manufacturers all over the world.

He got me started over 20 years ago now and I’ve never really thought about doing anything else.

What car do you drive yourself?

The cars I would drive on a daily basis are owned by Ford UK (team sponsor) but I’m lucky enough to own my own Mitsubishi Evo 9 and a classic Mini cooper S race car.

What is your favourite car?

Probably my Evo, I’ve spent most of the summer learning how to drive it somewhere near to its potential. Its been a lot of fun.

That changes every year. I would love to get my hands on the new Lamborghini Reventon, I love the Bugatti Veyron, I also love my Ferrari’s. Nothing compares to the feeling of driving the 355 full speed and hearing the engine roar, staight from the classics the Ferrari Daytona.

Interview: Jens Trulsson

Monday, November 5th, 2007

The Londino organisers - Jens Trulsson (right)

One of the most succesful automotive events this year was the Londino, an invitation-only, transnational treasure hunt with automobiles between London and Portofino. Enough reason for us to catch up with Jens Trulsson, creative director for Londino and the Cartorialist, for an exclusive interview!

Where does your passion for cars come from?

I have always had it. Since I was a kid I’ve had this fascination for things that move and it evolved to being extremely passionate about cars. I can tell you that my father and brother are equally passionate so it runs in the family.

What car do you drive yourself?

I change cars more often than I change suits.

What is your favourite classic car?

It’s impossible to choose just one. I love the Porsche 2.7 RS but to exclude cars like the Ferrari 250 GT California Spyder or the Aston Martin DB4 GT Zagato hurts so much that I just can’t have one favourite. Right now I am obsessed with the Porsche 964 RS N/GT.

Ashley van Dyke

Some of you may remember Ashley van Dyke from Bullrun 2006, where she drove a Mercedes E55 AMG. Since she also participated in this years Playersrun we had a little interview with Ashley to round up our coverage of the Playersrun 2007.

Although we knew very little about Ashley one thing was clear straight away, racing is in her blood. Her grandfather was a NASCAR director and racing played a vital role in her family. When she grew older her desire to race herself grew bigger and bigger. But before she could make the big step into professional racing she entered the Playersrun in 2005. It was the first of a number of roadrallies Ashley participated in. About her first rally she says: ‘I don’t think you can really compare anything to your first rally. It’s like loosing your viginity’. The 2005 Players Run took Ashley from Seattle to Las Vegas in a supercharged Honda NSX.

Ashley who, next to racing driver, also is a host and tv-presenter drives an Audi at the moment but asked for her favourite car admits she rather has a Maserati MC12, a race car based on the Ferrari Enzo, which she fell in love with at first sight at the start of this years Players Run.

Ashley's favourite: Maserati MC12

Monday, April 16th, 2007

We had the chance to have an interview with rally legend Uno Gomes. Doing the Gumball 3000 for the fourth time this year, he had plenty to say!

What do you expect from this Gumball?

This years gumball? Good question, on one hand I see the Asian side of Turkey and Greece which will be a great opportunity to race through those countries. And we have Eastern Europe which are the best countries to drive in anyhow :) I love corruption. So there is always a way to escape jail bonds and all the other possibilities cops have to keep you out of the next checkpoint.

GT3000 Interview in a Bentley

Two weeks ago GTspirit had an exclusive interview with GT3000, brainchild of Nils & his buddies. The interview took place in the back of a Bentley Continental Flying Spur while we were driven around in a German city. Nils invited car photographer Dino Pannhorst over to take some exclusive photographs for GTspirit. But first the interview:

Can you tell us a bit about your car collection?

During Gumball 2004 we drove a white Porsche GT3. In 2005 we had the Gulf GT3. This one is still in my garage but since I got my new red Porsche 997 Turbo I don’t drive it that often anymore. I also have a Golf R32 which is great if I want to take my dog somewhere.

What is your biggest passion?

Porsche! I’m addicted to it! It’s the combination of style, speed and reliability that makes me love them.

What was your first car?

Golf 3 Color concept in lemon green. Sadly it only lived 4 weeks, in a tight corner the car lost traction because of some dirt on the road, the car spun and hit an oncoming car and flipped over a couple times. Luckily nobody had serious injuries but it was the end of my first car.
