Latest hot news out of Ingolstadt is about the new S4 with an output of 333 bhp. Indeed, less than the current S4. The reason for this is that the V8 got replaced by a supercharged V6. We can hear you think: ‘that’s rather sad news’. But we are not so sure about that.

As advantage Audi says that this car will have less polution together with a lower weight. These two facts can make the new S4 a lot more sportive than the current one. Luckely Audi is not planning to do this with it’s RS4 aswell, that one will be announced later this year and will still have the V8 in it’s nose. The styling is typical Audi, 4 exhaust pipes and the beautifull S-line package!

Audi UK had create a new commercial for the new Audi RS6 called Gymnasts. According to Audi the first Audi RS6 Avant’s will be delivered to their customers this month. Just to refresh your memory: the twinturbo 5 liter V10 in the RS6 delivers 580 bhp and that’s enough for a top speed of just over 300 km/h.

Carshows are something we see all over the world. But in America they have those shows, that are just a little bit different, not to say special. In Floriday they had the St Pete’s Car Show. A lot of nice supercars showed up including one guy with his collection of 15 Ferraris: 1 Enzo, 1 FXX, a brand new F1 car and a pair of white Ferrari’s, a 612 Scaglietti and a 599 GTB, were there. The next episode from last years most beautiful story of Germany has arrived. After some bad news on the V12 TDi concept, Audi now confirmed that the R8 Spider is coming next year! This is rather bad news for Porsche because Audi has now a competitor in both coupé and cabrio class. If we believe our source the roof of the R8 Spider will be a removable targa one with detachable panels rather tan a canvas roof or a folding hard-top.

Under the hood we have one option for sure and two rumoured engines:

Current engine:
• R8: 414bhp naturally aspirated V8

Possible engines:
• RS8: 500bhp naturally aspirated V10
• R8 TDI: 500bhp twin-turbo V12 turbodiesel

With the winterseason running at it’s end, the guys from Auto Motor und Sport came up with the idea of doing a nice snow test. They took 3 of the best four-wheel drive cars out on very snowy roads. They tried to find out if Porsche could keep-up with or even break the perfect driving skills of a Lamborghini Gallardo and a Audi RS4: Stuttgart vs Ingolstad/Sant’Agata Bolognese. Celebrating the New York Auto Show Audi invited our friends from Jalopnik over to take the brand new R8 V12 TDI Le Mans Concept for a spin around the block. Three Q7’s escorted the precious concept through the streets of New York to make sure everything went as planned. The concept was limited at half the horsepower and half the torque to make sure it stayed in one piece, but even with half the power it left an impression that lasts. For loads of pictures and the full story about their ‘test drive’ visit Jalopnik.

With finally all our photos from the Geneva Auto Salon added to our gallery, it’s time to wrap up our coverage with some highlights and a couple remarkable finds. From the major manufacturers it was the Volkswagen Group that suprised us the most. Their brands Audi and Lamborghini had, also according to our readers, the highlights of the show at their stands. Of course the Lamborghini LP560-4 was not to be missed and next door Audi showed an amazing supercar concept and two Q7’s with a V12 TDI engine. The Audi R8 V12 TDI Le Mans concept is definately our favorite of the show. Below you can find photos of a number of highlights and remarkable concepts.

As the title suggest there’s bad news from Ingolstadt. But it’s not all bad for Audi. Because the Audi R8 is so popular, with 4125 cars built in 2007 and another 5000 planned for 2008, the Audi engineers decided to postpone the production of a spider and diesel version. Production manager Michael Dick told us even more disappointing news: the Audi R8 V12 TDI will stay a concept car!

With all the news and attention going to the Audi R8 V12 TDi we should almost forget that there are tuners out there trying to make a supercar a bit more spectacular. This time it’s MTM’s turn. Sofar it’s only a testcar equipped with MTM bimoto rimms. The rimm sizes for front and rear axle are specially customized for the R8 and positively influence the tendency to over/understeer. Sport tyres are optionally available .

Audi presented a new concept car today based on the Audi R8. The Audi R8 TDI Le Mans has a 6 liter 12 cylinder diesel engine, enough for 500hp and 1.000 Nm of torque. It’s a supercar first to have a V12 diesel engine in a high-performance sportscar. Sprint from zero to 100 km/h can be done in 4.2 seconds and the topspeed exceeds 300 km/h. The V12 TDI in the R8 Le Mans concept is closely related to the V12 TDI that can be found in the two-time Le Mans winner, the Audi R10. Peak torque is reached at only 1.750 rpm which should enable effortless acceleration.

But that’s not all, the R8 Le Mans with it’s V12 TDI engine had a complete redesign of both interior and exterior resulting in a stunning supercar that certainly caught our attention! As you can see the front has a very remarkable grill. On the other side of the car you will find a spoiler and a brand new exhaust. We love the new looks and hope to see it on the road in not to long!
