Audi, being the chief marque at this years Goodwood Festival of Speed, have been busy putting together the centerpiece for the event. The centerpiece usually consists of a huge architectural structure placed in front of the house. This year Audi have been nice enough to tease us with a cryptic clue as to how it will look.

Audi’s 6.0 Litre V12 TDI engine may have been dropped from development in the R8 but we must remember that it has made it to Audi’s flagship Q7. As a commemoration of the companies (now broken) back wins at Le Mans, the car was released with the V12 TDI making it the most powerful diesel engine used in a series car. It was only a matter of time before companies like ABT managed to get their hands on it!

We’d never heard of German company Mariani before today. They focus on styling cars from BMW, Jaguar, Mercedes Benz and Audi. They’ve produced a styling kit for the Audi S8 thats also interchangeable with the rest of the A8 series.

We have seen several strange, bad and almost unique supercar crashes, but two supercars crashing into each other is something special. This crash between an Audi R8 and a Ferrari 599 GTB occured in Fu Zhou, China. The story goes that the 599 GTB had to break hard for a taxi that was picking up a passenger resulting the R8 crashing into the back of the Ferrari. Probably speed was a crash reason as well?

This Q5 Concept was presented at a carshow in Wörthersee, Austria. The place to be for all GTI and German car lovers. Clearly Audi wanted to be in the spotlights. The Q5 is powered by a 3.0 liter TFSI V6 engine from the Audi S4 and S5 Cabrio.

Audi insiders have confirmed to the automotive website ‘WhatCar?’ there will be a convertible version of the Audi R8. The details are not complete at this moment. The newly developed supercar should reach the showrooms in 2011 and will be equipped with a full-length convertible roof made of fabric.

The release of the Audi RS5 is a known fact in the entire automotive world. New spyshots made last week on the Nürburgring show another version having a retractable rear spoiler. Rumours go it’s a lightweight version of the standard RS5 (coming July 2010) and that it will be launched in 2012. It is said to weigh less than 1,400kg (3,08 lbs) and use a twin-turbo V6 powertrain with an output of 425bhp instead of the 450bhp strong V8 in the standard RS5.

Audi seems to be the car manufacturer that has the best resistance against the economic and financial crisis. At the Geneva Auto Show they showed the amazing TT-RS. Only a few weeks later, they confirm the rumour of last summer, an Audi RS3. Confirm is a big word, nothing official came from Audi yet, but when seeing these spyshots we all know better. The engine will be taken over from the TT-RS which means an output of 340bhp together with 450Nm of torque. Sprint from zero to 62mph is likely to be just under the five seconds.

MTM has introduced their latest package for the Audi TT-S Quattro with S-Tronic, renamed the car to TTS-R. A package outperforms the new TT-RS and boosts the performance up to 380 or even 494Nm. It also includes Brembo brakes with 8-piston calipers, MTM bimoto forged 20-inch wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 tires (245/30 ZR20), a rear spoiler and lowering springs.
