This is an evenet for several classics and concept cars. Every year there’s a winner selected at this show. This year the best car on the show was the Bugatti 57SC Atalante. We already know that Bugatti’s was planing a second vehicle with a targa-top version of the Veyron 16.4. Today we received news about a limited number of units to be produced. Just 80 units and that’s compared to the coupe’s 300 cars not much. The cost of letting the sun shine through your Veyron’s roof will also be more prohibitive, with a price tag up on £ 900,000 (€ 1,140,000 - $ 1,770,500). The new car will weigh more than than the record-setting original. Top speed will therefore be relatively limited, if one can call so, to a nice 217 mph (347 kmh).

Rumours have been going around for a while but now we were told that Bugatti confirmed the Bugatti Veyron Targa. According to a Volkswagen source, Bugatti will start production of the Bugatti Veyron Targa in 2009. Bugatti’s Georges Keller confirmed that the company is working on a convertible model. We’ve told you before that Bugatti aims to build 80 Bugatti Veyron convertible’s.

As with Audi’s forthcoming R8 Spider, Bugatti is forced to make it with a detachable roof rather than a folding convertible roof due to lack of storage in the rear. The project should be in hands of Webasto, the people who create the roof for the Volkswagen Eos.

Carshows are something we see all over the world. But in America they have those shows, that are just a little bit different, not to say special. In Floriday they had the St Pete’s Car Show. A lot of nice supercars showed up including one guy with his collection of 15 Ferraris: 1 Enzo, 1 FXX, a brand new F1 car and a pair of white Ferrari’s, a 612 Scaglietti and a 599 GTB, were there. With finally all our photos from the Geneva Auto Salon added to our gallery, it’s time to wrap up our coverage with some highlights and a couple remarkable finds. From the major manufacturers it was the Volkswagen Group that suprised us the most. Their brands Audi and Lamborghini had, also according to our readers, the highlights of the show at their stands. Of course the Lamborghini LP560-4 was not to be missed and next door Audi showed an amazing supercar concept and two Q7’s with a V12 TDI engine. The Audi R8 V12 TDI Le Mans concept is definately our favorite of the show. Below you can find photos of a number of highlights and remarkable concepts.

It’s hard to believe but Bugatti sold 220 of it’s super-exotic Veyron 16.4 cars. In fact 132 are delivered on customers drive-ways and 88 are on order. This means the guys from Bugatti are slowly coming closer to their aim of 300 cars! Bugatti increased production last July to bring the wait to under 12 months. With customers showing more interest in “special” cars, the factory is authorizing, more and more supercar manufacturers are doing it, an “individualisation programm” to meet those requests.

Today Bugatti unvealed another special version of their Bugatti Veyron. At the Frankfurt Auto Show last year Bugatti already brought us the ‘ultimate edition’ called the Veyron Pur Sang. This time Bugatti celebrates it’s long-time friendship with Hermès which resulted in the Bugatti Veyron Fbg by Hermès with a Hermès made interior. The Veyron Fbg also includes many exterior features that refer to Hermès like the changed front grill & air intakes and special Hermès eight spoked wheels. It will only be available in the colors ebony & étoube or ebony & brick, not everyones choice but it guarentees harmony between the cars exterior and interior according to Hermès designer Gabrielle Pezzini.

The new Veyron Fbg by Hermes will be available at the end of 2008 and carries a 1.550.000 euro pricetag, that includes an Hermès bag that fits in the front luggage compartment.

With only a day to go until the 2008 Geneva Auto Salon opens for the press it’s time to present a number of rumours and possible supercar premieres at the Geneva Auto Show.

Bugatti

Last month Bugatti announced a partnership with fashion brand Hermes, reason enough to believe a new Veyron Hermes a la Pur Sang version of the Bugatti Veyron will be presented. But there might be something else just around the corner. We’ve heard about a Bugatti Veyron Spider and a baby Veyron in the works, now could be a good time to release it.

Ferrari

The presence of Ferrari at the Geneva Auto Show is surrounded by a lot of silence, without a doubt we can see a couple busy days ahead at the Ferrari stand. But what is it the brand with the prancing horse will bring to Geneva? Our guess is the long anticipated small Ferrari positioned under the F430 will make it’s appearance at the 2008 Geneva Auto Show.

Porsche

Porsche already confirmed the Porsche Panamera, it’s just a matter of time until it’s official release. If the Panamera is still headed for the 2009 lineup, Geneva is the place to do it.

One lucky businessman in Abu Dhabi took delivery of his Bugatti Veyron Pur Sang not to long ago and drives around the United Arab Emirates with it ever since.
