2 000 Corvette’s ZR1 Planned
Wednesday, May 7th, 2008
Corvette ZR1 chief engineer Tadge Juechter recently told the automotive world the Corvette ZR1 will be produced in a limited number of 2 000 units to be revealed over the entire world. He also said that the ZR1 will be on of the most fuel-efficient 600 bhp supercars out there, but before we believe that we wait for official testing figures on the fuel-consumption. The ZR1 has only backwheel traction for the simple reason that four wheel drive would have created “too much mass”. Last but not least, Juechter promissed, that the exclusive ZR1 parts won’t be available on other Corvettes. That’s a good thing for it’s exclusivity but not for the current ZO6 owners. Anyway, driving a car wherefrom 2 000 pieces are made, is that still that exclusive…?

The 2009 Corvette ZR1 is one of the most powerful Corvette’s ever. The 620 bhp strong Corvette was one of the favorite vehicles to spot of spyphotographers around the globe. We found a video of the ZR1 going around the Nordschleife to illustrate the reported ZR-1 ring laptimes of about 7.40 min. This time shows that the Corvette is not only very good in a straight line but also damn quick around the corners!
2009 Corvette ZR1
Friday, April 11th, 2008
Only a couple days to go until the official launch of the 2009 Corvette ZR1, it’s been caught doing hot laps on the Nürburgring. The most powerful Corvette ever built was captured on video running consecutive laps in the 7:40 range on a cold and damp track, in Nürburgring terms that’s pretty damn quick. ZR1 Chief Engineer Tadge Juechter said the ZR1 will beat any production car’s track record anywhere in the world, but we’ll have to see about that…
Several Corvette’s ZR1 spotted
Saturday, March 29th, 2008
Some places are very popular to spot exotic cars or highly covered testing cars. This time someone was very lucky: he spotted 8 Corevette’s ZR1 at the same place. Luckely he was able to make a video of it which you can see after the jump!
To refresh your mind: the ZR1 is the über-version of the Corvette C6. The extra-powered V8 supercharger produces 628 bhp and 807 Nm of torque. All this power shoots you in 3.7 seconds to 62 mph (100 kmh) and stops sprinting at a topspeed of 206 mph (330 kmh).
Corvette ZX-1 C6 by Karvajal Design
Saturday, March 22nd, 2008
With the increasing number of supercars driving around, the number of tuners is rising aswell. At the New York Autoshow Karvajal Design showed their tuning package designed for the Corvette ZO6. The called their creation the ZX-1 C6 and under the hood would be a very nice 560 bhp, not bad for a beginner! So far this is only a concept but Karjaval is planning to deliver the packages by the end of the year.
77 Corvettes ZR1 coming to Europe
Wednesday, March 12th, 2008
The 2009 Corvette ZR1 was officially presented last year. Today we can tell you that only 77 pieces of Corvette’s masterpiece are coming to Europe. This is a lot less then we expected and those who want to park the 625 bhp strong Corvette on their driveway need to be fast. Not with standing the low number of cars we think supercar fans won’t hesitate to take this one above other exotics in this class.
Corvette Z06 Black Edition by GeigerCars
Wednesday, February 27th, 2008
The Chevy Corvette was already tuned by GeigerCars back in 2006, but now they thought it was about time to review their package resulting in this, the Corvette ZO6 Black Edition. The technical part of the car hasn’t changed much, but as you can guess, the black exterior details make this one different from the other Geiger ZO6’s. The engine is still running with 542 bhp instead of the standard 512 bhp and the sprint to 62 mph (100 kmh) is covered in 3.7 seconds instead of the already fast 3.9 seconds.
Corvette Z03 Concept by Ugur Sahin Design
Wednesday, February 20th, 2008
The Dutch car designer “Ugar Sahin Design” created a rather nice concept car. It’s based on the Corvette ZO6 and will be called the Corvette ZO3. Ugar Sahin is hoping on a production of about 100 ZO3’s. The performance isn’t bad either, with three engine options available from 500 bhp untill 700 bhp.

2008 Corvette by Callaway
Wednesday, January 23rd, 2008
We get a lot of spectacular stuff from the European tuners, but over the great-ocean they have lot’s of tuners aswell. On of them is Callaway, the Connecticut-based Corvette tuner, and they have just announced that it’s package for the Corvette is ready. The Callaway Corvette will come with a new supercharger that bumps power of the C6 Corvette to 580 bhp. If you want one, you only need $18 500 (£9 500 - € 12 500) for the additional 150 bhp over the stock 430 bhp 6.2L V8. Too bad it’s very hard to see some of them over here on the European roads…
