Monday, April 28th, 2008
Ferrari announced that they got a record turnover in the first quarter of 2008. Next to this good news, little sister Maserati is doing amazing business aswell. Despite the strong Euro which should make the US market buy less, Ferrari and Maserati managed to raise their turnover with 4%. They have to thank this to the V12 Ferrari’s and the V8 Maserati’s. The 612 Scaglietti and 599 GTB Fiorano are the toppers. Ferrari’s profit in 2007 is 59 million euro, which is twice as much as the 2006 model-year!
Maserati A8 GCS Berlinetta Touring
Monday, April 28th, 2008
Tuned Maserati’s is not something we see everyday. Maybe that was the idea of the Italian designhouse Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera when they created tis A8 GCS Berlinetta Touring. It was presented yesterday at Villa d’Este.
The A8 GCS makes us think of the A6 GCS Pininfarina from a while ago. Touring has created the car ‘from scratch’: it’s designed to weigh as less as possible and clocks of a 1200 kg. Other specs aren’t know yet, but as the name suggest it will run on the V8 from the current and more than amazing Gran Turismo!

Thanks to Motor Authority and Schulte Design we now have a rough idea of what a Maserati Gran Turismo Spyder could look like. Maserati bosses have given the go-ahead for the car to be ready for production of this Gran Turismo Spyder by march 2009. It is unclear whether the new car will be canvas roofed or folding metal with spy shots hinting that the car could be the later but one things for sure, Maserati are aiming to make the car as visually impacting as possible.

The Audi R8 V12 TDI Le Mans concept is definately our favorite of the show. Below you can find photos of a number of highlights and remarkable concepts.

We almost forgot about the old model GT ever since the new one came out but Simoni put it back in the spotlights with their tuning range for the 3200 GT. Maserati Chicane concept
Tuesday, January 29th, 2008
The next car show, the one in Geneva in march, will have some nice cars to show to the public. One of them is this rather nice concept, the Maserati Chicane concept, a 2 + 2 coupé designed by Masterstudents at the European Design Academy in Torino.
The car is only 4400 mm long, 1850 mm width and 1250 mm high which tells us we are dealing with a sportscar. If this one gets into production it will be the baby Maserati, but maybe not the cheapest one. The press message only told us that the Chicane drives on a V8 in the front with back wheel traction. From our part, it has a “yes” for production!
