2008 Villa d’Este

While all supercar producers are packing together in Monaco for one of the best shows in a year, there’s also the Concours d’Eleganza Villa d’Este. This is an evenet for several classics and concept cars. Every year there’s a winner selected at this show. This year the best car on the show was the Bugatti 57SC Atalante. St Pete’s - Florida Car Show

Carshows are something we see all over the world. But in America they have those shows, that are just a little bit different, not to say special. In Floriday they had the St Pete’s Car Show. A lot of nice supercars showed up including one guy with his collection of 15 Ferraris: 1 Enzo, 1 FXX, a brand new F1 car and a pair of white Ferrari’s, a 612 Scaglietti and a 599 GTB, were there. Next to that there was a Ferrari F40 and several other beauties. We’ve added a selection of pictures below, you can find more pictures in our forum!
Geneva Auto Show 2008 Highlights

With finally all our photos from the Geneva Auto Salon added to our gallery, it’s time to wrap up our coverage with some highlights and a couple remarkable finds. From the major manufacturers it was the Volkswagen Group that suprised us the most. Their brands Audi and Lamborghini had, also according to our readers, the highlights of the show at their stands. Of course the Lamborghini LP560-4 was not to be missed and next door Audi showed an amazing supercar concept and two Q7’s with a V12 TDI engine. The Audi R8 V12 TDI Le Mans concept is definately our favorite of the show. Below you can find photos of a number of highlights and remarkable concepts.
Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupé sold out!

It seems like Rolls Royce is the popular über-luxery car at the moment. All 200 available pieces of the coupé are sold. If you bought one, you can expect it on your driveway by spring 2009. In Geneva Rolls Royce chairman Ian Robertson revealed a nice detail:
“Two out of three sales of the Phantom CoupĂ© are bought by people who don’t currently own a Rolls. It means we’re beginning to appeal to a broader audience”.
Rolls-Royce Coupé Royale by Castagna

Rolls Royce will show it’s new member of the family in Geneva, the Rolls Royce CoupĂ©. Thanks to that it was time for Castagna to create something rather special. Many will think that this one is based on the brand new coupĂ©, but nothing is less true. The CoupĂ© Royale is based on the standard Phantom and allmost every single part has been changed.

Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione Spider
A year and a half after the world premiere of the 8C Competizione it’s now time for the premiere of the 8C Competizione Spider.
Aston Martin V8 Vantage & DB9
Both the V8 Vantage and DB9 are facelifted by Aston Martin. The facelift include a number of visual and performance upgrades.
Rolls-Royce Phantom Coupe

For all of you that rather drive than be driven Rolls Royce will launch a new model at the upcoming Geneva Auto Show in march 2008. The new Rolls-Royce is called the Phantom Coupé and will be the most driver-oriented in the Phantom line. While maintaining the comfort for both driver and passengers Rolls-Royce made the car more dynamic and enjoyable.
The new Rolls-Royce Phantom CoupĂ© will be powered by the same 6.75-litre V12 used in the Rolls-Royce Phantom. This engine produces 453 bhp and according to Rolls Royce it has a segment-leading fuel economy, this doesn’t mean it get’s anywhere near the fuel economy of a hybrid but who cares. For anyone thinking about doing a driving event in one of these it might be good to know it has 25% more fuelcapacity compared to the Phantom Drophead. The car is scheduled to go into production at Goodwood in the summer of 2008!
Rolls Royce’s baby Phantom

From the moment Rolls Royce was represented by BMW everything looked like heaven for the Britisch highclass car manufacturer. At all good things comes an end, but not yet for Rolls Royce that will present a baby Phantom late this year, beginning next year!
Our source Autoexpress showed some spyshots of the baby-Phantom that is, as you clearly can see, based on a BMW 7-series. The only competition for Rolls Royce sofar was Maybach, but with now planning a mini-Phantom they get into the terrain of the Bentley Continental Flying Spur. Next to that they will also give more competition to Maybach, which ’smallest’ production model is the 57.
Rolls Royce Phantom - Silver Edition

Rolls-Royce has produced a limited edition of their super exclusive Phantom, named Phantom Silver. The idea was to mark the 100th anniversary of the Silver Ghost, which is a special model and will only be build in very limited (25 pieces) edition and beside that it pays homage to the one of the most famous automotive names of all time.
The first Silver was built in 1906, specifically to publicise the then new Rolls-Royce 40/50 hp six-cylinder model. The Silver Ghost established the Rolls-Royce reputation for reliability and engineering excellence.
Rolls Royce Phantom Drophead

After lots of speculation the Rolls Royce Phantom is going roofless. Without her roof, this car looks even more stunning than ‘normal’ Phantom. Off course this is not a daily car, but if you really want to drive it daily, there’s only one solution: pay a € 370 000 and drive it!
