Just when we are getting used to tuning news, there are always some creative souls out there who find a new car to tune. This time it’s SMS’s turn, which is the new tuninghouse of Steve Saleen, to make an upgrade for the upcoming Dodge Challenger. The SMS 570 TM is based on the brand new Challenger R/T and will get 2 new engines: one running on 500 bhp and one on 700 bhp. That power is derived from a 5.7 liter Hemi V8 engine. Both cars will hava a adapted suspension, a bodykit, tires, rimms and offcourse a fresh interior.
Mercedes-Benz CL by LSD
Monday, May 12th, 2008
To be clear we are not talking about the drug called “lsd” but truly about a company called “LSD” that gave the Mercedes-Benz CL-class a set of wing doors. The in Germany based tuner installed the wing doors on the original door mouting points and are tested for safety with side-crash test and have the German TUV parts certificate. The LSD wing doors open outwards by a 30° angle and then swing upwards, without any great exertion. Strange, but not bad at all!

Mercedes CLS L 55 RS by Lorinser
Friday, May 2nd, 2008
Tuning mostly comes together with a new car or a facelift on a yet existing one. With Brabus being the first to create a package on the brand new Mercedes-Benz SL, competitor Lorinser decided to put their hands on the facelifted CLS-class. The Germans based themselves on the CLS 500 and gave it an additional 72 bhp bringing it to a total of 460 bhp together with 585 Nm of torque. Topspeed is said to be 188 mph (300 kmh). They called it the CLS L 55 RS and such a long name informs you have something special to handle!
Mercedes S Class by ART
Friday, May 2nd, 2008
Mercedes is a popular car to take into a tuning shop, but that is a little bit different for the S-class. Probably because this car is a bit too ‘business-minded’ to modify with the coolest stuff. Tuningcompany ART denies this and has created a rather beautiful package for the S-class with a bronze and sandstone color combination. Under the hood you get a 5.4 liter engine producing now 403 bhp together with 530 Nm of torque. They managed to raise the power by electronics tuning and a sports air filter. The sport exhaust system with sport rear silencer accentuated by 4 chromed and polished tail pipes measuring 80 mm in diameter each!

With more and more tuning packages coming up, you could think almost everybody has found something that he likes. But that’s isn’t really true, that’s why Sportec came up with this SP600 package for the Turbo Cabriolet. Next to this package, shown in the pictures, you can chose for an even stronger version called the Sportec SP680 or if you only want to drive public shopping streets you can also take the ’slowest’ version, the SP530. The names explain the power that is derived from the boxerengine. The SP600 sprints from 0 - 62 mph (100 kmh) in just 3.3 seconds.
Jaguar XF by Loder1899
Wednesday, April 30th, 2008
It rather surprised us that the Jaguar XF didn’t enter any tuningshop earlier. But now Max and Julie from Loder1899 have created a nice package for Jaguar’s newest descedant. Loder1899 started with a body kit consisting of a new front spoiler, boot spoiler and rear diffuser accentuating the sporty character of the Jaguar XF. They also lowered the XF by 35 mm giving it both a faster appeal as well as a lower center of gravity. The look is finished with 20 or 21 inch wheels, pictured are 21 inch silver ‘Hollow Spoke’ wheels.

The news about a new package for the previous Mercedes-Benz isn’t cold yet and here we go with the newest package created by Brabus. Offcourse they want to be the first to show this and so they did. We have to admit that the package looks very good on the facelifted Mercedes-Benz SL class. The aggresive looking SL is called the Brabus SL-class R230 and has been changed quite a lot. The frontbumper, which was totally refreshed by Mercedes themselves, has been changed again. Together with that the guys at Brabus doubled the foglights and installed a row of the very popular LED-lights.
