Our collegues of Autogespot had the chance to visit a Porsche Meeting at the well-know Dutch circuit “Zandvoort”. For one day the Dutch tarmac was reserved and used by a German Porsche Club. Because of that opportunity the German’s brought the best they had including several 996 and 997 GT3(RS)’s, CS’s, GT2’s and Turbo’s. Also present were several Cayman’s and Boxter models together with the rather older models as the 991’s 924, 944s and several RS models! Enjoy the pictures …
Last week we joined DMC on a trip to the F1 track of Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. Designtek organised this trip and together with Design 911 and Paragon were responsible for a lot of the cars at this Gold Track trackday. Our trip started Thursday morning near Stansted, catching up with others at various gasstations we made our way to Dover and jumped on the ferry to Duinkerke in France. From there it was on to Spa! We ran into a slight problem with the BMW M3 CSL not long after we left the harbour in Duinkerke. But due to our delay we made it to the hotel in Spa without the serious rainshowers the others encountered and with the cup tyres on the CSL that was very fortunate for us.
The next morning it rained very hard so there was no point in getting up early. By the time we filled the car up and made it to the track there was a dry line showing and that made a perfect time to take it round the track. Sadly another Carrera GT struggled and hit the wall, it looked like there was only damage to the bodywork though. The driver of a red F430 spider wasn’t that lucky and saw his car leave the track on a truck. In the afternoon there were no more incidents, mostly due to a dry line all the way round the track.
During the trackday at the Nurburgring we got a couple rides from various participants, the best ride of the day was definatly the one with Top Run organiser Nitro in his Lamborghini Gallardo. He knows the almost 21 kilometer long Nordschleife very well and has done hundreds of laps. Before going out on the track we found a good competitor, the slightly faster Mercedes CLK-DTM, and then left the pitlane for the last lap of the day, you can see the full lap in the video below. Trackdays.de organised a very succesful trackday at the Nurburgring Nordschleife yesterday. From 8 AM till 2 PM the track was reserved for the 40 cars that signed up for the trackday. The straight was open so the drivers could take their cars to the maximum on the long straight, an opportunity you won’t get when the track is open for tourists. Among the participants were 2 Porsche Carrera GT’s, 2 brand new GT3 RS’s, a Lamborghini Gallardo, a rare Mercedes CLK-DTM, a Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, a couple handsful of Porsches and a lot of other lovely toys. Top Run organisers and GT3000 members PCP and Nitro were there with their Porsche GT3 and Lamborghini Gallardo. Top Run participant DMC worked on his lines at the Green hell with his M3 CSL. Last sunday there was a little trackday for past and present Gumball 3000 entrants at Donington racetrack. A couple pictures surfaced at the official site today. We don’t see much exotics except from the Ultima GTR that Team 29 drove in last years Gumball 3000. What we do see though is a Porsche 911 dressed as a zebra, we feel for the poor animal that ended up in the wrapping machine, a bunch of Lambo’s, the back of a Ferrari F430 and a bunch of BMW’s and Audi’s.
