Christmas time means time for wishes. After seeing the first pictures of a Lamborghini Murciélago LP640-4 testing with a huge wing on the back we knew there was something coming. The Dutch paper, De Telegraaf, reported that Lamborghini CEO Stephan Winkelmann has confirmed not one, but two different rear-drive-only Lamborghini’s for 2009. First up will be a Murciélago LP640-2 with 640 HP directly sent to the back wheels. It’s also possible that this model will be called the ‘SV’ (Super Veloce).
As if that news isn’t great enough sir Winkelmann also spoke about a new Gallardo Superleggera based on the LP560-4. The superlight Gallardo with a current output of 560 bhp will probably get a lighter and stronger brother! The elimination of the AWD equipment should save quite a few kilos and make the driving experience a bit harder for anyone intenting a fight with the bulls from Sant Agatha. The LP640-2 is expected in Geneva, the Gallardo LP560-2 will probably be a 2010 model.

It looks like we will see more wrecked Lamborghini’s without their audi all-wheel drive system. Tsk tsk tsk. But other than that, an awesome looking car nonetheless! It always should’ve had a rear wing like that!
