Despite the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 being completely free of many of the electrical equipment found in the Nissan GT-R, the American muscle car still manages to hit 100km/h in well-under 4 seconds and when tweaked and fettled by the team at American Racing and completed with an Akrapovic exhaust system, this particular Z06 can well and truly keep up with the 485hp Nissan GT-R in a rolling drag race, as shown by the following video shot by m5boarddotcom on YouTube.
Unsurprisingly, the Nissan GT-R gets the better start thanks to its all-wheel drive system and it’s greater traction, but barely 10 seconds after the race started, the Z06 begins to claw back its early deficit and eventually finishes directly opposite the seemingly faster GT-R!
