First 2012 Shelby Mustang GT350 Convertible to be Auctioned

The very first 2012 Shelby Mustang GT350 Convertible is set to be auctioned off next week at Barrett-Jackson’s Las Vegas auction. More specifically, the car will hit the auction block on Saturday, September 28th in front of an international audience.

When manufactured, the 2012 Shelby Mustang GT350 Convertible was available with a selection of different engines and styling reminiscent of the original 1960’s GT350. This particular 2012 Shelby Mustang GT350 Convertible is fitted with the range-topping supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine delivering a total of 624hp. Additionally, this unit features an upgraded interior as well as massive Shelby brakes and wheels.

President of Shelby American John Luft said, “The Shelby GT350 is among the world’s most collectible modern muscle cars. Historically, the first car per model year was built for Carroll Shelby’s personal collection. He was especially keen to own a convertible built during Shelby American’s 50th anniversary. This very special Shelby GT350 wide body is set to cross the block in our hometown during Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas. So we’re giving someone the chance to own this special piece of American history, just months before production of the legendary Shelby GT350 will end.”

Shelby American Vice President of Production Gary Davis reaffirmed these statements saying, “We carefully documented the build of this car. Carroll was very excited about the new wide body option, so that was included on this car. It’s the first 2012 GT350 serial number from our anniversary year. It is a very special car.”
