Volkswagen GTI Roadster Vision Gran Turismo Comes to Life Virtually

New virtual renderings of the exciting Volkswagen GTI Roadster Vision Gran Turismo have emerged following last week’s official reveal with a host of sketches. The car will be revealed in the flesh tomorrow at the annual Worthersee Festival.

As the name suggests, the Volkswagen GTI Roadster Vision Gran Turismo is the latest in a long line of cars specifically created for Gran Turismo 6. It is suitably unlike any Volkswagen Golf ever created and features a speedster design with an aggressively raked wrap around windscreen.

It is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre V6 engine delivering a total of 503 hp and 491 lb-ft of torque. All of this power is sent to the ground via Volkswagen’s 4MOTION all-wheel drive system and its seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. Completing the outlandish looks are large 20-inch alloy wheels complete with 235/35 tyres at the front and 275/30 tyres at the rear.

While the car does bear the GTI name it looks unlike any Golf GTI ever created and likely to be produced in the future. Nevertheless, it certainly stands out with the aggressive front fascia and aforementioned raked windscreen as well as the in-your-face rear-end incorporating a large wing, rear diffuser and twin centrally exiting exhausts.

Alongside the release of new renderings, a short video of the car has been released showcasing how it will appear in Gran Turismo 6.
