Just after it emerged that the 2015 Ford Mustang SVT GT350 will be revealed next month, a prototype has narrowly escaped crashing at the Nurburgring and becoming the laughing stock of the automotive community.

As the picture above shows, the engineer behind the wheel lost control of the potent American muscle car as it ran wide onto the grass. As soon as it hit the grass, the tail end whipped out and was just a few inches away from hitting the Armco barrier!

Visually, this special 2015 Ford Mustang will feature a revised and more aggressive front bumper and splitter, new wheels as well as what could be Recaro sports seats. Also, there will be large quad-exhaust pipes, a new rear diffuser and carbon ceramic brakes.

While the engine will in fact be borrowed from the current range-topping GT, the GT350 SVT will deliver significantly more power than the 435 hp and 400 lb-ft of torque of the GT.
